sugary, the saccharine sweet. be sweet to me like candy, caffeinated drink. glittering, on the tip of my teeth. it's the sweetest thing, your party acclimates to me. i can feel my body slip out of control, the chemical unfolding glow keeps me awake, keeps me awake tonight. i can feel my body slip out of control, my sneakers just can't stand stillness, quiet, glow stillness, quiet, glow. quiet glow, like nobody knows we take up space so sweetly, individual. touching me, my limited form, my everything everywhere is warm. i'm at the party, let's party, can you feel it? glitter, and shimmer, and glowing and glowing, you know. stillness, quiet, glow. i'm at the party, let's party, can you feel it? glitter, and shimmer, and glowing and glowing, you know. stillness, quiet, glow. i can feel my body slip out of control, the chemical unfolding glow keeps me awake, keeps me awake tonight. i can feel my body slip out of control, my sneakers just can't stand stillness, quiet, glow stillness, quiet, glow.

about

"a future that is already happening" is a quote from "T*H*E I*M*A*G*I*N*A*L R*A*V*E", a zine from the 90's california rave boom, which frames rave as a continuation of 60's counterculture and urged the movement to see its envision itself in the future. the sociocultural problems that faced past generations of counterculture still exist today; a future that is already happening. the sounds on this record clearly pull from 90's dance music, but are mutating with the current climate of the world, the internet, quarantine, and political revolution. it is our job to pick up where counterculture left off, to create mutual aid, support and uplift marginalized people, stand for the abolition of oppressive systems, and listen to, make, and celebrate music outside of consumerism.

these songs were put together over spring/summer 2020, in lockdown, after spending a few formative months in seattle. this found me making music for club sound systems with no clear forecast of when said clubs will be open again, leaving the sound design often nervous and unstable. however, we continue to mutate and adapt to online environments and embrace a future that is already happening.

hope to see you on the dance floor some day soon :)
